About Helen
Background
Following a B.A. hons degree in Jewellery from Sheffield Hallam University I returned home to Liverpool and worked for several jewellers. I set up Helen M Ford Jewellery in 1997 as I wanted to do something a bit different from that which was being sold in jewellery shops at the time. I would say my jewellery style is contemporary, simple, clean lines with a unique twist.
The main part of my work is re-modelling and commission jewellery; “making heirlooms for the future” as I like to call it! All of the gold and silver I use is recycled and my diamonds are conflict free. I can usually trace my coloured stones back to source.
When I am not making jewellery I enjoying walking with my husband and son, gardening, reading and listening to podcasts.
Consultations
My vision was always to have a jewellery studio or workshop where I could create my own pieces and operate “by appointment” consultations. These consultations are available in person in my studio, in your home, by phone, email or Zoom. My role during the consultation is to really listen to what a customer wants from their jewellery – their lifestyle, tastes, budget, personal style, etc. From this consultation I can create a page of designs hopefully capturing the essence of what we have discussed.
